About the Event:

JOIN US at Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium as our founders, Roger Parry and Jessica Dawson share our conservation work in the Voices for Conservation speaker series, in a FREE public event!

The conservation of wildlife in Zimbabwe and across Southern Africa is critical. Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, an important partner of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, is working to create a culture of coexistence in this region by using innovative approaches to protect Southern Africa’s majestic wildlife.

Join the founders of Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, Jessica Dawson and Roger Parry, as they share their wildlife conservation initiatives through anti-poaching efforts, rescue and rehabilitation, human-wildlife conflict mitigation, research, and community outreach.

This event is FREE to the public, Zoo admission is not required. Donations are welcome and all proceeds will go directly to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust.

Zambezi Cycle Challenge

July 12th – 14th 2019 is The Zambezi Cycle Challenge – a single track mountain bike race through national park and along the magnificent gorges of the Zambezi River. The event’s primary objective is to raise funds to preserve the environment surrounding this natural wonder, and The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust are a major beneficiary. These funds will be raised by providing a top class, uniquely challenging and adventure filled experience through beautifully scenic, natural reserves; for participants that are conservationists as well as adventure enthusiasts!

Victoria Falls Motorbike Enduro

Coming up on April 27th – 28th, 2019 is the annual Zambezi Off Road Club Motorbike Enduro ride. The event is a multi-day ride that has different courses for fun ride participants as well as the more serious competitors. The event is held in the community bordering Victoria Falls and funds raised help go towards human wildlife conflict in these communities benefiting Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit and Veterinarians  for Animal Welfare Zimbabwe. Walking for Wild

Coming up in 2019, is Walking for Wild, the Victoria Falls Challenge. One of Victoria Falls Wildife Trust‘s longstanding Trustees, Leon Varley will be walking for wildlife to raise funds to benefit the Trust. The event is a non-stop, long-distance trek that takes place in just 24 hours, covers some of the most majestic and wild landscapes in Zimbabwe.

Tour de Zambezi

Coming up on May 23rd – 26th, 2019 is the Tour de Zambezi, the newest mountain bike event managed under Tour de Wilderness and a fundraiser for Children in the Wilderness (CITW) Zimbabwe and the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. The event is a 3 day, 4 night mountain bike tour through the Zambezi region, showcasing all that the Victoria Falls National Park, Zambezi National Park Victoria Falls and Zambezi areas have to offer; pristine wilderness, breathtaking gorge trails, community involvement and land rich with history.
